Natural Treatment For Vitiligo – Best Home Remedies

Herbal Vitiligo TreatmentIf you’re tired of waking up each morning to white spots and patches appearing on your skin, you don’t need to continue suffering in silence anymore.

I used to believe that the best treatments for vitiligo were expensive medical procedures recommended by my dermatologist.

And the worst part wasn’t even the price, it was the fact that there was no guarantee that it would even work for me; the only guarantee I got was that there were going to be side effects.

Fortunately for me, I’ve never been one to put too much faith in western medicine. I started dabbling in alternative medicine, searching natural remedies for vitiligo treatment, and that’s where I stumbled onto Michael Dawson’s Natural Vitiligo Treatment System.

I’ve gotten some amazing results so far. So if you’re interested in learning how to cure vitiligo naturally, then keep reading. I’m going to show you some of the things I’ve tried that’s helped me achieve my results.

What’s Worked For Me:

Here is a list of the best Vitiligo natural treatments and home remedies that I’ve found along my journey, all of which have shown remarkable results and were easy to implement.

They are in no particular order, and the results I’ve gotten from them were probably due to a cumulative and compounding effect:

Turmeric PowderTurmeric And Mustard Oil

The combination of Turmeric and mustard oil is very effective at reducing white patches.

  1. Simply take about 250 ml of mustard oil (organic) and mix it together with about 5 full teaspoons of turmeric powder.
  2. Gently apply the mixture to all the affected areas.
  3. After 20 minutes, wipe it off and pat yourself dry.

Do this at least twice a day for about a month and you’ll notice the white patches starting to fade and your normal skin color beginning to re-appear.

Duckweed is a type of water plant that’s very rich in lignin. It’s an effective natural treatment for vitiligo skin disorders, and it even helps to restore your skins natural color.

  1. Take the duckweed and grind it down into a very fine paste.
  2. Add a teaspoon of honey and drink it twice a day after a meal.

You’ll start to see the results after about a month.

Sun Screen

Apply lots of sunscreen, even if you are not going to be in direct sunlight. I recommend using at least SPF 30. This will protect your skin against both UVA and UVB as vitiligo affected skin is more vulnerable to the sun’s rays.

Red Clay

Red clay is a very effective natural home remedy for vitiligo because of its high copper content, which is what’s responsible for restoring skin pigmentation.

  1. Combine 1 tablespoon of ginger juice with 2 tablespoons of red clay.
  2. Apply the mixture to the affected areas daily.

The reason for adding ginger juice is so that it can stimulate and increase the flow of blood to the applied areas. This is very cheap, but effective method for restoring color to your affected skin.

Goosefoot is a type of vegetable with lots of medicinal properties. It contains high traces of vitamins and minerals, along with a rich concentration of protein and folic acid. In addition to eating this vegetable at least once a day, you can also extract the juices from the leaves and apply it directly to all the white areas on your skin.

Papaya is great for reviving and restoring melanin (which is responsible for skin pigmentation). In addition to drinking papaya juice every day, I would also:

  • Rub the affected areas of the skin with a piece of papaya fruit.
  • Allow it to dry, before applying it again to make sure that the juice is properly penetrating the skin.

Psoralea Seeds

Psoralea seeds soaked in ginger juice is great for “replicating” the effects of sun tanning, and it is perhaps one of the best natural home remedies for the treatment of vitiligo.

  1. Soak the seeds in the juice of ginger for 3 days.
  2. After 3 days, rub the seeds with your hand to remove the shell.
  3. Allow the seeds to dry in a shaded area, and then have it grounded to a powder.

Every day, take 1 gram of this powder with fresh milk. Do this for about 40 days straight.

You can also apply some of the powder  to the affected areas for quicker results.

Radish Seeds

Radish SeedsRadish seeds, finely pounded into a paste, is another effective vitiligo home treatment.

  1. Take about 40 grams of finely pounded radish seeds and soak it overnight with a small amount of vinegar.
  2. Apply the paste to all the visible white patches and allow it to dry completely before removing (it should come out as scales).

Vitamin B9 and B12

A study conducted on a large number of vitiligo patients found that around 80% of them were deficient in vitamins B9 (folic acid) and B12.

There have also been recorded evidence that supplementing with these vitamins for 3-6 months resulted in cases of complete re-pigmentation.

In light of this evidence, you should make sure that you increase your consumption of foods that are naturally rich in these vitamins. Examples of such foods include: Liver, Sunflower Seeds, Milk, Cheese, Beef, Chicken, Pork, Fish, and Whole Eggs.

Copper is a vital mineral that has many benefits. However, when it comes to using it as a vitiligo treatment at home, the important properties that concern us include:

  • It’s ability to eliminate the free radicals responsible for destroying melanocytes (melanin-producing cells responsible for skin color)
  • It’s ability to help produce melanin.

Increasing your intake of copper-rich foods is a very effective home remedy for treating vitiligo. Foods high in copper include: Liver, Nuts, Dried Tomatoes, Watermelon/Pumpkin Seeds, Chili Powder, Cocoa Powder, and more.

Be aware that excess consumption of copper can also lead to unwanted side effects, so it’s best to increase your consumption in moderation.

Stress ReductionStress Reduction

Even the best vitiligo treatments won’t help you if you’re constantly stressed all day long. Stress has been shown to be one of the main triggers for genealogical disturbances that often results in the growth and spread of vitiligo. With this in mind, you should try your best to minimize daily stress through lifestyle changes.

For example, you can incorporate practices like yoga, meditation, deep breathing, and even light to moderate exercise.

If there are negative people or things in your life that’s causing you a lot of emotional stress, you may also want to try and minimize contact/exposure to them.
